HTE Drone Professional Day 2025
Organized by the Scientific Association for Infocommunications (HTE), the HTE Drone Professional Day 2025 event will take place in Budapest on February 26, 2025, as a half-day hybrid event.
The spread of drones is increasing rapidly, currently at the fastest rate among hobby users. However, there is also growing demand for professional applications. Forecasts predict 1.5 million drone flights in Hungary by the end of the decade. Preparing for such extensive airspace usage and ensuring the safe operation of drones for everyone must be done in time. These preparations have already begun, not only in Hungary but globally. The goal of the conference is to present the legal and regulatory environment, which is essential for drone operations, including Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights. How suitable are mobile networks for drone communication? What professional drones and applications are available?
The Development of Drone Technology: Opportunities and Challenges
The spread of drones has grown significantly in recent years, especially among hobby users. At the same time, more and more legal business applications are emerging in professional use cases, such as: Industrial supervision Surveys and mapping Agricultural innovations Logistics solutions Disaster response.
Using drones allows for more efficient and faster decision-making and intervention in many areas. Their presence also affects the development of other fields, such as data processing, telecommunications, aviation, and artificial intelligence applications.
Regulatory and technological developments play a crucial role in enabling BVLOS drone flights and allowing industrial and commercial applications to reach their full potential.
Conference Topics
- Current legal usage and opportunities: How can drones be operated safely and legally?
- The role of mobile networks: How suitable are existing mobile networks for drone communication, especially for BVLOS operations?
- Air-Ground-Air network models: What would an effective drone communication infrastructure look like?
- Frequency bands and usage conditions: Drones require radio channels for control and data communication.
- The presentation will cover current Hungarian regulations on frequency usage, the conditions for utilizing these bands, and expected changes in the near future.
- EASA compliance and CIL certification: Challenges and opportunities for manufacturers in meeting regulatory requirements.
