  Hackathons as a form of\n  competition have been present in the industry 
 for many years. These\n  competitions last from 12 to as much as 48 hours\
 , during which\n  participants develop various key competencies. Some of t
 hese\n  competitions are aimed at the student population\, while others ar
 e\n  open to all interested parties. Based on personal experience and\n  f
 eedback received from the organizers and participants of the\n  hackathons
 \, it was decided to attempt the implementation of hackathons\n  in the ed
 ucational system for training software engineers.\n   The results of the p
 ilot testing have shown that the learning\n  method based on hackathons is
  very well received among students\, as it\n  enables them to develop esse
 ntial skills and establish connections\n  with the industry. The lecture w
 ill present the hackathons in which\n  students from Subotica Tech partici
 pated\, as well as the hackathons\n  that were implemented within the fram
 ework of professional subjects\n  during their studies.\n   “IT Subotica 2
 030” is an organization whose foundation has been\n  initiated by IT compa
 nies and educational institutions from Subotica\n  with the aim of making 
 Subotica a widely recognized regional IT center\n  and a place with a live
 ly economic and IT conference scene. The\n  purpose of the organization is
  to encourage the development of social\n  and environmental activities in
  the town to make Subotica an ideal\n  place to live\, study\, and work. T
 he presentation will cover the\n  organization itself\, its members\, as w
 ell as the projects realized and\n  how education\, companies\, and societ
 y are interconnected.\n   Az előadóról Zlatko Čović is coming from Subotic
 a\, Serbia\n  and holds a PhD in Computer Science. He holds the position o
 f college\n  professor at Subotica Tech-College of Applied Sciences. At th
 e same\n  time\, he also serves as Assistant Director for Public Relations
  and\n  Students at Subotica Tech.
